How to Host a Sub-Domain on InMotion (Without Transferring Your Domain)

As I am only testing InMotion Hosting for this review, I did not want to transfer my main domain. Instead, I added a sub-domain to host on InMotion. Here’s how I did it:

1. Login to InMotion
   First, log in to InMotion through the AMP (Account Management Panel) login.
2. Access cPanel
   Once logged in, navigate to cPanel from the AMP dashboard.
3. Go to Domains Section
   Scroll down to the bottom of the cPanel page. You will find a section called Domains. Click it, and it will open a new window.
4. Create a New Domain
   In the new window, you will see an option to Create a New Domain.
   • Domain: Enter the sub-domain you want to create.
     In my case: testinmotion.techfin2k.com
   • Document Root (File System Location): Specify the directory where you want the files for this sub-domain to exist. You can leave it as default or choose a custom folder.
   • Subdomain: The system will automatically assign a subdomain for the addon domain, e.g., testinmotion.techfin2k.com.14c737XXXXX933061.temporary.link
5. Submit to Create the Sub-Domain
   Once all the fields are filled, click Submit. Your sub-domain is now created on the InMotion server.
6. Use the Sub-Domain While Installing WordPress
